It was a terrific launch of the Longtze European Tour! The weather, the level of competition, the atmosphere, sun was all were part of this first event. First of all, three days of regattas in very different weather conditions: 25 knots of wind, choppy seas, unbridled surfing for Friday’s regattas with medium to light and unstable winds on the week-end. Three races were run on the first day, two on the Saturday, and two on Sunday. Furthermore, all of the races were hard fought and very close: Four different boats managed to capture first place over the seven races run. But in the end, it was Nicolas Bérenger on "Kone Monospace" who dominated the event with four races won and a convincing overall win in the classification. For his part, Luc Gellusseau on "Lufthansa", also sailing consistently taking home second place. "White", owned by Sven Niklaus and Eckhard Kaller, the Swiss boat, finished closely behind with a 2nd, 3rd, and 1st in the last races and an overall 3rd place position... |
